Leadville Winter Carnival
Ski joring is the highlight of Leadville’s annual Winter Carnival, which takes place the first weekend in March. Along with a snowshoe race series, Loppet race and dog sledding events, the weekend is packed with winter activities that your family will talk about for years to come.
 

Mineral Belt Trail

The Mineral Belt Trail, one of Colorado's newest, highest and most spectacular paved pathways. Dedicated on July 29, 2000, this trail loops the city of Leadville, traveling through aspen groves, conifer forests, wildflower meadows, and open vista sage parks.

National Mining Museum

Located in the famous 1880's silver mining boomtown of Leadville, Colorado at the top of Colorado's Rocky Mountains, the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum is a monument to the memory of the men and women who pioneered the discovery, development and processing of our nation's natural resources. Mining's colorful history is showcased throughout the facility. The National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum is the only federally-chartered non-profit national mining museum.

Route of the Silver Kings

A "must stop" for ghost towners and explorers is the Leadville Chamber of Commerce, where you can pick up a free map called "The Route of the Silver Kings." This informational guide will tell you a little about the mines surrounding Leadville, as well as show you the way. Most of the roads are easily accessible with any vehicle. It is well worth the trip!!
